OBA Working to Defeat IP28 Tax Hike Proposal

Posted by:

At our annual September retreat, OBA’s Board of Directors voted to oppose corporate and individual tax increases proposed by Initiative Petition 28. IP28 is a deeply flawed $5 billion tax hike proposed by Oregon’s public employee unions that would be the largest in state history and would impose a huge new gross receipts tax on hundreds of companies – large and small – doing business in Oregon. The board reaffirmed this position at its November meeting and OBA is now part of a broad coalition working hard to defeat this damaging tax scheme.

What is OBA doing to oppose IP28?

OBA joined a strong coalition to oppose IP28 and we are working closely with our board and policy committees to ensure good coordination and communication on this issue at all levels. We are also raising $$ to fund a successful NO campaign through the OBA PAC.
